As for the book, Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics, I have not read it. However, I highly recommend Eckhart Tolle’s writing — specifically his book, The Power of Now.

Tolle is a spiritualist who preaches being present, which is the foundation of mindfulness. Mindfulness has been profoundly beneficial for me. Meditation involves many of the principal tactics of mindfulness. So naturally, the two complement each other nicely.

I’m happy that you were able to find a regiment and the emotional support that you needed! I bet practicing mindfulness and meditation would have an even greater impact on your success. Good luck!
